Nati Mondo Trentino: Births from 1815 to 1923

This is a net of databases about births from 1815 to 1923 in Trentino. In Trentino Alto Adige, parishes had, since August 1815 and under the Austrian Empire dominion, exclusive competence about civil acts. It remained this way until 1923, some years after the transference of Trentino to Italy, when that competence was delegated to the Communes.
Relatives’ information could be found on this website (first names, surnames, parents, date and place of birth) in a database containing all individuals born in that province and on the diocese of Trento from January 1st 1815 up to December 31st 1923 (around 1,280,000 sheets with data) a work what took more than 8 years of cooperation between the Archive of the Diocese of Trento and the Trento’s Migration Office of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
This work was done based on a microfilmed collection of all the parishes’ registers available in the diocese since 1985. This project, not having known antecedents in Italy, was either created to respond to the countless and sometimes urgent applications of immigrants from Trento who request for that information with the object of being authorized to get the double citizenship. This database is online since April 12 and it requires a previous inscription.
