According to E. Rossoni, the surnames Visentin, Visentini, Visintin and Visintini present a clear distribution in the north-east of Italy: Visentin is typically Venetan; Visintin and Visintini are more typical of Friuli and the Trieste area; while Visentini extends, besides the lower Veneto, towards zones such as Mantua and Ferrara. As a whole, all these surnames derive from the Venetan dialectal demonym vicentini, that is, "inhabitants of or coming from Vicenza", which indicates a geographical origin linked to that city.

For his part, F. De Laurentiis agrees with this interpretation and defines these forms as variants of Vicentini, of Venetan origin, thus reinforcing their character as a demonymic surname derived from the place of provenance.
