Salomon
This form is a variant of the surname Salomone.
Origin and meaning
E. De Felice notes that the surname has as its base the biblical name Salomone, the king of Israel son of David, famous for his wisdom. He indicates that it is widely diffused throughout Italy.
A. Bongioanni specifies that the name comes from the Hebrew Shelomoh, from shalom ("peace"), with the same meaning as the Germanic Federico, the Greek Ireneo and the Latin Pacifico. He adds that around Solomon a vast cycle of legends was formed in the Middle Ages that contributed to the diffusion of the name.
