Poleri

This form is a variant of the surname Polera.

Origin and meaning

E. Rossoni and N. Bergamo agree that the surname could have a Greek origin, although they propose different roots.

Rossoni notes that the etymological origin is obscure and puts forward as a hypothesis a derivation from a dialect nickname based on the Greek term poli ("city").

Bergamo, on the other hand, interprets it from the Greek term polè, with the meaning of "merchant."
