Miorini
This form is an altered form of the surname Migliore.
Origin and meaning
F. De Laurentiis notes that this surname derives from the auspicious term migliore ("better"), the comparative of "good", and that it in part continues the Late Latin personal name Melior, of broad diffusion in the Middle Ages.
A. Bongioanni proposes that the given name Migliore possibly corresponds to Melchiorre, and groups under this root the surnames Migliorati, Miglioretti and Migliorini. For the Friulian Miorini, however, Bongioanni considers the derivation from the adjective itself more direct, without passing through the given name.
