Lurasco
This form is a variant of the surname Luraschi.
Origin and meaning
E. De Felice notes that this surname was formed from the demonym Lurasco, derived from the place name Lura, in the Como area, with a presence in the Milan area and in upper Lombardy.
E. Rossoni agrees that the surname is proper to the Como area and to the north of that of Milan, and that it derives from the demonym of the place name Lura, in the province of Como. Rossoni adds that the form Lurasco is practically unique and could be due to transcription errors. He records traces of its fixing as a surname in Viboldone, in the province of Milan, from the 16th century, with the praepositus Giorgio Lurasco.
