Fazzino
This form is a variant of the surname Fazzini.
Origin and meaning
E. Rossoni notes that this surname derives from the medieval name Fatius, a form related to Fazio, in turn an aphaeresis of Bonifazio. Rossoni documents the use of this name from the 12th century and mentions as a prominent figure the Veronese Saint Fazio (1190-1272), as well as its appearance in a text of Pisa of the 14th century.
F. De Laurentiis considers it a modified variant of Fazio. The surname presents specific zones of presence in northern Italy, in the Milan, Lecco and Verona areas, and also in the Florence area and in the Piceno.
