Surname Travaini
Origin and meaning
F. De Laurentiis notes that the surname derives from Travagli, a base form related to the term travaglio. R. Brondolo develops this etymology in greater detail: travaglio comes from the Latin tripalium, the name of a harness of three poles used by blacksmiths, so that the surname would originally allude to that trade. Brondolo places its area of diffusion mainly in Lombardy and Piedmont.
