Origin and meaning
F. De Laurentiis notes that the surname has a greater presence in the Naples area and that it derives from the name of the Spanish city of Zaragoza —called in Italian Saragozza. According to this author, in southern Italy its diffusion would also have received direct influence from the Spanish surnames Saragozza and Saragò.
P. Durante, on the other hand, proposes a Greek origin for this surname and refers to the word Faragò for its development.
