Surname Rosati
Origin and meaning
E. De Felice and F. De Laurentiis agree that the surname was formed from the name Rosato, documented from the 11th century and fairly common in the late Middle Ages, derived from rosa with various motivation, or also from the personal name Rosa itself.
Both note that, for the Rosati of Lombardy, if they are not imported, the base may also be the place name Rosate, in the province of Milan.
De Laurentiis adds that the surname is diffused with medium frequency in the centre-south, and sporadically in the north.
