Palmesano is typical gnataro Maggiore in Caserta, derived from Palmisano. At least two places are identified where the PALMISANO surname originated: one in the area that includes Bari, Taranto and Brindisi, the other on the road that from Reggio Emilia, through Messina, Catania, Enna and Termini Imerese, reaches Palermo and from there in Ustica.
