Surname Fantinato
Origin and meaning
E. Rossoni proposes that Fantinato is a Venetan patronymic form formed with the suffix -ato on the given name Fantin or Fantino, indicating with it families descended from someone named Fantin. He notes that the surname is typical of the Vicenza, Padua, Rovigo and Venice areas.
F. De Laurentiis, for his part, interprets it simply as a derivative of Venetan origin of the surname Fanti, without developing the patronymic route or specifying the zones of rooting.
💡 The surname Fantinato also appears as variant of the surname Fantino in other studies consulted in this project.
