Surname Fantato
Origin and meaning
E. Rossoni interprets Fantato as a patronymic form with the suffix -ato derived from the name Fante, so that it would designate families descended from someone named Fante. It is a not very frequent surname, characteristic of the Verona, Padua, Rovigo and Venice areas.
F. De Laurentiis proposes, on the other hand, that the surname derives from Fanti, without developing greater precisions in this respect.
