The authors agree that the surname derives from the personal name of Greek origin Kassándra / Kassándros, associated with the famous character of the Trojan tradition. E. Rossoni notes that, in Lazio, there is also a theatrical mask with that name that represents a credulous character easy to deceive, so that in some cases the surname could also derive from nicknames inspired by that popular figure.
