Origin and meaning
According to E. Rossoni, these surnames and their derivatives could derive from the name of the Valle di Blenio (canton of Ticino, Switzerland) or from the Swiss municipality of Blenio, or also from the medieval Latin name Blinius. Blini is typical of the Bergamo area (Calvenzano, Treviglio, Casirate d'Adda); Blinio and Blino are almost unique and Piedmontese.
Anthroponymic. Recurrent. From the Gallo-Roman name Blinius (in which the theonym Belenos can be seen, the name of the Celtic god of light).
