According to E. Rossoni, they could derive from the name of the Alpe Bedolo, in the Como area, or from the locality of Bedolo in the Val Trompia, in the Brescia area, or from the village of Bedollo in the Trentino region. Bedolis is very rare and from the Bergamo area; Bedolo is specific to Soncino, in the Cremona area.
