Surname Asperti
Origin and meaning
The authors agree that Asperti is a surname derived from a medieval personal name of Germanic origin.
E. Rossoni derives it from the name Anspertus and recalls the archbishop of the Milan area who bore that name, Ansperto Confalonieri, who held the office between 868 and 881.
Surnames in Italy considers it an anthroponymic surname of wide diffusion, derived from the Germanic name Ansbert, meaning "luminous as a god". It also notes that Asperti, like other surnames of the same root, presents the typical consonant shift that transforms the voiced stops into voiceless ones (or the p into f).
