Surname Annoni
Origin and meaning
The authors agree that the surname was formed from the place name Annone, linked to the Milanese family.
E. De Felice identifies it as peculiar to Milan and northern Lombardy, formed from the place name Annone Brianza, in the Como area.
It is considered, along a complementary line, that the Milanese family of Annono (of Annone, on the lake of the same name at the gates of Lecco) is registered in the Matricola Nobilium Familiarum of 1377 —or 1277, the dating is uncertain—, a list of the noble families of Milan whose members had the right to passive election as ordinary canons of the Duomo.
It is also recorded that the kin of Annono appear among the Guelph families of Brianza whom Galeazzo Visconti, by an edict of his of 1385, pardoned for the favour they had shown to the House of Savoy.
