Italian soldiers killed in the U.S. during World War II
Fallen Italian Social Republic. At the bottom of the list of names, in a special alphabetical order, are collected those who did not die during the war period, but subsequently as a result of injuries and / or mutilations suffered.
The Archives of the International Prisoners-of-War Agency 1914-1919 – During the First World War, 10 million people, servicemen or civilians, were captured and sent to detention camps. On 21 August 1914, the International Committee of the Red Cross established the International Prisoners-of-War Agency in Geneva, to which the warring States submitted, more or less regularly, lists of prisoners. The Agency received 400,000 pages of documents: lists of prisoners’ names and records of capture, of transfers between camps and of deaths in detention, which created an index card for each prisoner and detainee. Now, you can search through all 5 million of them.
Caduti in Guerra

This database is accessible in the Italian Ministry of Defense and has information about the place of burial of fallen soldiers, in places where Italy was involved in conflicts. The information you could find on there is: first name and last name, date and place of birth, burial location (cemeteries inside and abroad the Italian territory).

This website is part of a project headed by Roberto Zamboni, Italian researcher involved in the research and repatriation of fallen soldiers buried in cemeteries abroad, who were prisoners of war and subjected to concentration camps. These soldiers are known as i dispersi: those who were forgotten by the state. In this website we can find pictures of military cemeteries and partial lists of those buried in the Military Cemeteries.
